Take Hats from Hobo to Haute

Living in the Northwest, it is practically a requirement to own a hat. Unfortunately, I have seen enough hoods, from hoodies, to last a lifetime. Not only are hoods not actual hats, but they are sloppy and entirely unfashionable. Another option that is not acceptable is the bandana. Unless one is an actual biker, throw the bandana away; please do not buy another one. Last but not least, traditional baseball caps. There is nothing about these hats that work with a look, unless actually attending a sporting event, or possibly camping. Never fear, I have hats that will not only be comfortable, but take everyday hats from hobo to haute.

The first thing to do is find the style one wants to embrace. One way to do this is by going through one’s closet and picking looks/outfits that are most commonly worn. After these looks are put together, the second thing is to begin thinking about colors that will work with each. The last thing to do is try on a variety of styles, because each one will look differently dependent on face and head shape.

f hoods are what one is used to, replace this hobo look with haute, French-brimmed military hats. These styles have casual appeal, while remaining completely on trend. I have seen these styles last season after season, which also brings a timeless appeal. Sold in a variety of colors, some with embellishments, everyone can have the perfect hat(s) to top their casual looks off with.

I hope there aren’t many out there wearing bandanas, but if this is sounding familiar get ready to replace it with a scarf. Scarves are completely hot and perfect for the upcoming warmer seasons. Worn similar to the bandana, these are folded in half and tied either around the base of the neck or brought up to the forehead and tied there. The sheer fabric, amazing color detail and diverse patterns, make this look extremely versatile and distinctive.
